Signs of a weak battery
Slow cranking when you start the car, a battery or charging warning light, electrical gremlins such as flickering lights or warning messages, the start-stop system no longer switching the engine off, or a battery more than a few years old.
Testing first
A flat battery is not always a bad battery. We test the battery under load, check the alternator's charging output, and look for anything draining the battery while the car is parked.
Start-stop and European cars
Cars with start-stop need an AGM or EFB battery, not a standard one. Many European cars also need the new battery registered or coded to the car so the charging system treats it correctly. We fit the right type and do the registration where the car needs it.
Common questions
How long does a car battery last in Singapore?
Heat shortens battery life, so batteries here often need replacing sooner than in cooler countries. A load test tells you how much life yours has left.
Does my car need a special battery?
If your car has start-stop it needs an AGM or EFB battery. Your existing battery's label or your owner's manual shows the type.
Why does a new battery need to be registered?
Many European cars adjust how they charge the battery based on its type and age. Registering the new battery tells the car to charge it correctly.
